Women’s Volleyball Wins Two to Wrap Up Road Trip

The Lancaster Bible College Women's Volleyball team finished their trip to Greenville, S.C. on Saturday afternoon, taking down Regent in four sets and earning a sweep of Toccoa Falls to finish the weekend 3-1. The Chargers improve to 9-2 overall while the Royals drop to 3-5 overall and the Screaming Eagles drop to 4-6 overall.

vs Regent – 3-1 Win (23-25, 25-22, 25-20, 25-23)

How it Happened:
The Chargers came out of the gate hot with the first five points, with Madison Reap landing a service ace and Riley Dodrer a kill. The Royals responded however, launching an eight-point run to take a commanding 12-7 lead. LBC had a four-point run late in the set with kills from Eden Belford, Lea Sareyka, and Reap, but fell 25-23 in the first set. The Chargers turned it around in set two, but a slow start saw Regent get two sets of four points in a row to lead 12-8. A five-point spurt that started and ended with kills from Dodrer gave LBC the lead, then two kills from Reap and a block from Dodrer ended the set 25-22 to tie the match at 1-1.

It was the Royals again that grabbed an early lead 8-2 in the third set, landing several kills with a few blocks sprinkled in. It wasn't until the end of the set that the Chargers pulled ahead, using a six-point run to grab a four-point lead behind kills from Reap and an ace from Candace Fox. A pair of errors wrapped up the set 25-20 to put LBC ahead 2-1 in the match.

The Chargers fell behind again in set four with Regent leading 10-6, but that lead was chipped at by LBC to tie it at 14. The Chargers and Royals traded points until Eden Belford capped a five-point run with a kill to pull LBC in front, then another kill from Sareyka ended it 25-23 and secured a win for the Chargers.

The Screaming Eagles and Chargers traded points in set two until a four-point run helped LBC pull ahead 15-9, ending with a kill from Sareyka. Madison Reap had several kills and a key block late in the set to help take it 25-22 and put the Chargers up 2-0.

The Chargers were able to command set three with an early six-point run with two aces from Candace Fox accenting the run.
