The Lancaster Bible College women's soccer team looks to begin their 24th season Saturday as the Lady Chargers travel to Houghton, NY to take on Houghton. This season will not only introduce new playing faces, but also the seventh coach to take to the sidelines, Seth Lehman.
Coach Lehman had this to say about what excites him about this year, "It's the culture we're trying to build here at LBC. It's different. It's understanding the importance of team chemistry, competitive spirit, and confidence and being able to apply those principals into our faith."
The Lady Chargers are looking to improve on a regular season record of 7-6-4 which includes a United East Conference record of 5-3 landing them in sixth place. They would then go on to defeat Rosemont in the first round of conference play before falling to St. Mary's of Maryland in OT.
Returning to the pitch, Lancaster Bible returns 15 total players from last season, which including first team all-conference players Kayleigh Rhine (Sr.) and Bella Eufemia (Jr.), along with second team all-conference player Janae Bergey (Sr.). Additionally, they return seven players that played in all 17 games last season including, Leah Perreault (Sr.), Chloe Donaldson (Jr.), Brooke Graham (Jr.), Leah Iman (Jr.), Samantha Perloni (Jr.), and Zoe Beers (So.).
When it comes to the group of returners, Coach Lehman remarks, "The experience we have brought back to this year's team is massive. They've been through some things and have learned every step of the way. Now it's time to put all those lessons learned into proactive action and allow the results to take care of themselves."
Joining this experienced squad of returners is a hungry group of fresh faces: Julie Marrero (Sr.), Zoi Whitsett (Jr.), Alison Ayars (Fr.), Amelia Culp (Fr.), Kady Felpel (Fr.), Ana Pinieski (Fr.), and Mycah Wilkinson (Fr.).
The Lady Chargers open their 2025 season on Saturday, but fans will have to wait until September 11th for the team's home debut against York. September 27th they welcome Wilson College to the Donald H. Funk Field at Willis and Martha Herr Stadium for Lancaster Bible College Homecoming weekend at 2:30. The Lady Chargers will then play one last non-conference game against Albright on September 29th, before closing its season with seven straight conference games; including Senior Day October 21st at 7:00 p.m. against Penn State Brandywine.
