The United East Conference released their first weekly award winners of the Fall 2025 season on Monday afternoon, with the Chargers earning one honor as Women's Volleyball senior
Madison Timberlake was named Defensive Player of the Week. Madison anchored the defense for the Chargers this past weekend as they opened the season 1-2 overall at Franklin & Marshall with a win over Susquehanna on Saturday. This is Timberlake's 1st career weekly honor as she boasted career-high performances on defense.
Timberlake highlighted the Chargers' weekend as she amassed 59 total digs across three matches for 5.36 digs per set. She notched her first career 20-dig performance with 22 digs on Friday against Franklin & Marshall in four sets, following it up with two 15-dig games on Saturday with 16 against Randolph-Macon and 21 in the Chargers' 3-0 win over Susquehanna. Her 5.36 digs per set were the most on opening weekend across the conference (min. 10 sets played) and her 21 digs against Susquehanna were the most in a single three-set match in the United East so far this season.
The Chargers have their first home matches of the season this week as they host Elizabethtown tonight at 7:00 p.m. followed by Eastern on Thursday, September 4 at 7:00 p.m. where Timberlake and Lancaster Bible look to begin their home slate with a pair of wins.
