Joel Walker - MSO Defensive
Walker helped lead a Lancaster Bible defense that pitched back-to-back shutouts this week in home victories over Notre Dame (Md.) and Wilson, each game finishing with the Chargers on top 1-0. He made several key defensive stops throughout the week and added two shots on goal against the Phoenix to help the Chargers control possession and eventually punch in a score in the second half. Walker has been a defensive anchor for the Chargers each of his three seasons in Lancaster, with their back line helping to limit opponents to less than two goals per game (1.82) and over four less shots per game than the Chargers.
Lea Sareyka - WVB Offensive
Sareyka put together both a dominant and efficient week for the Chargers as the team went 3-0 overall with two United East victories over Penn St. Abington and Cairn, adding a home sweep over Hood College to cap the week. Lea recorded 38 total kills across 10 total sets with only three total errors, boasting an astounding .412 hitting percentage for the week. She was even more efficient in UEC matches overall, hitting .416 with 27 kills and just two errors against both the Lions and Highlanders, including her most career kills in a four-set match with 19 against Cairn on Saturday. To add to her offense for the week, Lea landed 10 total service aces with nine coming against conference opponents, including five aces against Cairn to help tie her career-high with 24.5 total points. Sareyka leads the Chargers this season in kills (224), kills per set (2.87), points (275.5), and points per set (3.53), ranking 10th in the United East with a .232 hitting percentage and tied for 7th in total kills.
Madison Reap - WVB Defensive
Reap made it back-to-back Defensive Player of the Week awards after anchoring the Chargers' defense once again, helping the Chargers extend their winning streak to seven consecutive games after three more victories. She tallied 49 total digs across 10 sets of play and averaged 5.14 digs per set against United East teams, including 22 total digs against Cairn on Saturday in a four-set win. As a bonus, Madison contributed on offense as well with eight total assists and six total service aces for the week, including six assists and five aces against Hood College in a 3-0 sweep to end the week. Madi ranks second in the United East in digs per set (5.04) and is tied for the highest number of digs in a single match this season for the conference with 37 against Franklin & Marshall earlier this season.
