Throgs Neck, NY- For the first time in school history the women's lacrosse team scored ten goals in back to back games, but it wasn't enough Tuesday afternoon falling to SUNY Maritime 13-10.
Freshmen, Jenna Godwin (Fairfax, VA) and Rebekah Weidel (Reading, PA) got the Chargers started netting two a piece to put the visitors up 4-1 with 9:47 left in the first half. The Privateers answered with a run of their own to end the half on top 5-4.
Lancaster's Kirsten Gnagy (Somerset, PA) tied the game at five with her goal 17 seconds into the second half. Unfortunately for the Chargers, SUNY put together another scoring run to put the game out of reach 10-5.
In the final 15:42 the Chargers outscored the home team 5-3 but it was too little too late losing 13-10. Weidel led the Chargers with her second straight four goal performance. Godwin and Gnagy got in on the action with three and two goals respectively.
The Chargers look to bounce back on Wednesday when they travel to Trinity University for a 4:00 PM start.
