Washington D.C. - Lancaster recorded their second win in the last three games with their 18-9 decision over Trinity University Thursday afternoon. The Charger's 18 goals is a new single game scoring record for Lancaster Bible College. Captain, Kirsten Gnagy (Somerset, PA) played a large part in the win with a personal best and new school record six goals.
Rachel Warren (Dauphin, PA) got the visitors off to a 4-0 start scoring three goals in the first six minutes of the game. The Tigers tried to recover but Lancaster kept the pressure on increasing their lead to 9-4 at the half.
Trinity cut the lead to four when Rebeka Bautista opened the second half with a goal for the Tigers. Lancaster answered with five unanswered and put the Chargers in control 14-5. The last ten minutes went back and forth for the final of 18-9.
Kayla Maynard (Greenwich, NY) recorded 8 saves in the net for the Chargers and got her second win on the year. Kirsten Gnagy led the team with a school record six goals. Rebekah Weidel (Reading, PA) and Rachel Warren netted four scores apiece and Katie Longacre (Mifflinburg, PA) got in on the action with two scores.
The Chargers are back in action Saturday at Waynesburg College; Game is scheduled for 2:00 PM.
