Chambersburg, PA- The women's lacrosse registered their third win in an 11-8 shootout over Wilson College Wednesday afternoon. Rebekah Weidel (Reading, PA) led the way for the Chargers with a season high five goals.
The Chargers got off to a quick start scoring twice in the first four minutes. Wilson battled back to take the lead 4-3, but Weidel's three first half scores helped Lancaster take a 6-4 advantage into the break.
The Phoenix cut the lead to a single goal early in the second half but the Chargers quickly stretched the lead back to three and held on for the rest of the game. Kayla Maynard (Greenwich, NY) had a tremendous game in the net for Lancaster registering 17 saves in her third win of the season.
On offense, Weidel led the Chargers with a new personal best five goals. Kirsten Gnagy (Somerset, PA) and Jenna Godwin (Fairfax, VA) and got in on the action with two and three scores respectively. Katie Longacre (Mifflinburg, PA) chipped in with her fifth of the year.
