Chargers Earn Split in North Carolina

The Lancaster Bible College women's lacrosse team took to the road for spring break and headed south to the Tar Heel state to battle Methodist and North Carolina Wesleyan.

In their opening game, the Chargers (1-5) lost to Methodist, 16-5. Rebekah Weidel had two goals and an assist to lead LBC. Rachel Warren, Kirsten Fuller and Becka Hixson had the other goals. Nicole Valinteno made 10 saves in the loss.

On Friday against N.C. Wesleyan, the Chargers earned their first victory of the season, beating the Battling Bishops, 12-3. Whitney Heise and Weidel each had four goals for LBC.

"We dominated the game in both halves and the ladies played very well," Chargers' Head Coach Jess Creeden said.

Jenna Godwin scored her first goal of the season and added two assists. Valinteno made nine saves to get her first collegiate win.

LBC is back in action on Friday when they face Mercy College at 7:30 p.m.
