The Lancaster Bible College women's lacrosse team did something on Thursday they have never done in the program's short history - they came back from more than a two-goal deficit. The Chargers fought back from a three-goal deficit in the first half and another two-goal deficit early in the second half and defeated Bryn Mawr College, 16-9 at Charger Field.
Rebekah Weidel and
Mercedes Collins each had four goals to lead LBC.
"Our leadership on the field really helped us regroup when we were down," Chargers' Head Coach Jess Creeden said. "They stepped up when they had to."
Kirsten Fuller,
Whitney Heise and
Becka Hixson each had two goals in the win.
Jenna Godwin and
Rachel Warren also had goals for the Chargers. Goalie
Nicole Valinteno made 11 saves to preserve the victory for LBC (2-6).
The Chargers are back in action on Tuesday when they face Penn State-Abington.
