A week after many players on the Lancaster Bible College women's lacrosse team got their first taste of collegiate lacrosse, the team showed much improvement against Hood College on Wednesday in Frederick, Maryland.
The Chargers lost 20-7, but LBC Head Coach Evelyn Long was impressed with her team's progress from last week.
"We played with a much greater intensity then we did last week," Long said. "That intensity helped us play a better all-around game."
Rachel Warren had three goals for the Chargers, while
Whitney Heise had two goals.
Kirsten Fuller and
Rebekah Weidel each added a goal.
"The progress we made over the past week is huge," Long said. "We controlled the ball longer today and we had good team speed as well."
Long pointed out that defenseman
Ellie Hoover played well for the Chargers and her game especially had improved from last week.
"She played her first-ever game of lacrosse last week and her communication and play on defense today was great," Long said.
The Chargers do not play until Saturday, March 19 because of LBC's spring break next week. They will face Cazenovia at 1:00 p.m. on the 19th. The Chargers last played Cazenovia during the 2009 season and lost 22-2.
