LBC Snaps Three-Game Slide with 11-6 Victory

Rebekah Weidel scored a season-high six goals and Whitney Heise added four more as the Lancaster Bible College women's lacrosse team snapped a three-game skid by beating Wilson, 11-6 in Chambersburg on Wednesday.

Wilson opened the scoring eight minutes into the game, but LBC responded quickly, scoring twice in the next seven minutes. After Wilson tied the game at 2-2, the Chargers took two-goal lead on goals by Weidel and Heise.

LBC (5-8) led 5-4 at halftime and increased their lead to 7-4 just three and a half minutes into the second half on goals again by Weidel and Heise. Wilson made it 7-5, but LBC scored four of the five final goals of the game to earn the five-goal victory.

Senior Kirsten Fuller had the other Chargers' goal, her 19th of the season.

"Weidel played great today," Chargers' Head Coach Evelyn Long said. "Her shooting was great and she was an intimidating force on the field."

Long was also pleased how well the Chargers turned defense into offense.

"I thought we played well defensively, but our transition game was great too," Long said.

The Chargers will wrap up their season on Tuesday when they travel to Abington, Pa. to take on Penn State Abington at 4 p.m.
