Box Score Playing their final non-conference game prior to the nine-game conference schedule beginning on Friday, the Lancaster Bible women's lacrosse team was looking to build momentum on Tuesday as they took on Immaculata at Charger Field. And though there were positives sprinkled throughout the game, the Chargers lost to the Mighty Macs, 18-6 and fell to 1-6 this season.
LBC's
Danielle Good opened the scoring just 2:48 into the game to give the Chargers a 1-0 lead, but the Mighty Macs responded back just over two minutes later and scored the next four goals as well to build a 5-1 lead with 18:42 to play in the first half.
"We talk about scoring first every game and it was great to do that, but now we need to start focusing on building off of that first goal and putting our foot on the gas," Chargers' Head Coach
Zach Freeman said. "Scoring first doesn't matter much if you look up and its 8-2 Immaculata 20 minutes later."
The Mighty Macs (5-3) led 10-3 at the half and never looked back in the second half as they won by 12.
Whitney Heise scored four more goals for the Chargers, increasing her team-leading mark to 27. Fellow senior
Nicole Valinteno had LBC's other goal, her second of the season.
"I thought we played well for 30 minutes and not very well for 30 minutes," Freeman said. "Heading into conference play, we need to be able to string close to 60 minutes together where we are in control and we are dictating play. I think the ladies have a better sense of what type of effort that will take and I think we are heading in the right direction."
LBC opens up NEAC play on Friday when they host Wells at 4 p.m.
