KANSAS CITY, Mo. –Lancaster Bible College men's soccer earned a spot in United Soccer Coaches (USC) Division III Regional Rankings for the first time in program history.
The Chargers made their debut in the poll ranked #6 in the USC's Region IV rankings. New York University currently holds the top spot in the region. United East foes Penn State Harrisburg and St. Mary's College of Maryland hold the #3 and #4 spots in the poll. Earlier this season the Chargers knocked off Lycoming by a score of 1-0 and they hold the #7 ranking.
Last week the Chargers took down United East foe Gallaudet by a score of 5-1, in the process earning head coach
Tom Ardt's 100th Career Win.
This season, LBC is 7-1-2, including going 2-0-1 in conference play. The team is averaging 2.50 goals per game while holding their opponents to just over one goal per game. The Chargers' offense is led by
Chad Tolson who has six goals this season and
Kedric Yoder who has produced 13 points including seven assists which is tied for 13
th most in the country.
"We're focused on pursing our best every day and this ranking is a reflection of the guys doing that this fall," said Head Coach
Tom Ardt. "Looking forward to the second half of the season and continuing to work hard as a group."
The Chargers will look to keep rolling when they travel to face The College of New Jersey on Wednesday, October 6 at 6:30 p.m.
