Chargers Set to Host First-Ever NEAC Playoff Game

The Lancaster Bible College women's lacrosse team is set to host its first-ever North Eastern Athletic Conference women's lacrosse playoff game, as the Chargers welcome Wells to Donald H. Funk Field on Sunday afternoon at 5 p.m. Lancaster Bible is the second seed in the four-team postseason, while Wells is seeded third. Top seed Morrisville State hosts Mount Aloysius on Sunday as well, and the semifinal winners will meet in the NEAC Final next Saturday at the highest remaining seed.

How They Got Here
Wells: The Express went 1-2 in conference play, as they defeated Mount Aloysius, 9-7 on April 2 in Aurora, N.Y…Wells lost to Morrisville State, 17-1 on April 14, and then suffered a 14-3 setback to the Chargers on April 17 in Lancaster…The Express also lost to Alfred, Elmira, Cazenovia, and Fredonia in non-conference action.
 
Lancaster Bible: Lancaster Bible finished 3-1 in NEAC play during the regular season, as the Chargers were the only team to play all four conference games…The Chargers defeated La Roche, 23-6 on March 27, and dropped their only conference game of the season to Morrisville State on April 10, 25-12…Lancaster Bible rebounded with the aforementioned 14-3 win against Wells on Apr. 17, and then defeated Mount Aloysius 21-9 to close out the regular season on Apr. 23…The Chargers also beat Mount Aloysius and Wilson in non-conference play, while also losing to Wesley and Immaculata in non-conference contests.
 
Statistically Speaking
Wells: The Express have scored 28 goals in seven games this season, and are led by Clara Lima's 12 goals…Kayla Rowell has eight goals, while Mackenzie Powers has six goals a team-high six assists…Goalie Lauren Spiegel has played well for the Express, as she has made 92 saves this season.

Lancaster Bible: The Chargers have made only one other appearance in the NEAC postseason in program history, as Lancaster Bible lost Medaille, 15-10 in the NEAC Quarterfinals during the 2016 season…The Chargers are 3-2 at home this season, and have won three straight at the Donald H. Funk Field…The team's 123 goals are the most through eight games in program history…Lancaster Bible is 3-8 all-time against Wells, including this season's victory.
