How It Happened
The Lancaster Bible College women's lacrosse team rallied in the second half to defeat Notre Dame (Md.) by a score of 23-20 on Thursday, April 14.

The Chargers (8-4 Overall, 2-1 United East) fell behind early as Notre Dame (5-5 Overall, 3-1 CSAC) opened the game on a 4-0 run. Kendal Ream scored LBC's first goal of the game, halting the Gators' run. Katelynn Perrotta won the ensuing draw control and found Kayla Steiner on the offensive end. Steiner drew a foul, resulting in a free position shot. Steiner converted the free position opportunity, cutting the deficit down to two. Perrotta won the following draw, racing to the end of the field to score her first goal of the game, making the score 4-3. Notre Dame halted the run scoring their fifth goal of the game. Perrotta scored her second goal of the game off a nice pass from Ream, making the score 5-4. After a Gators goal, Molly Gray scored her first goal of the game, keeping LBC within a goal. Steiner then tied the game at six, scoring off a great pass from Perrotta. Abby Donaldson then tied the game at seven, scoring a goal off a pass from Gray. The Gators closed out a 15-goal first quarter, scoring in the final seconds to take an 8-7 lead going into the second quarter.

Notre Dame (Md.) started fast again in the second quarter, striking four straight times to take a 12-7 lead. LBC stopped the run with Steiner netting her third goal of the game. Less than a minute later, Ream scored to bring LBC back within three goals. Kym Kouterick scored the Chargers' final goal of the half, making the score 12-10.

Ream started the second half with a bang, scoring in the first minute of the third quarter. Later in the quarter, Natalie Boltz scored her first goal of the season, cutting LBC's deficit down to one. Ream tied the game at 14, scoring off a free position shot. LBC scored the final three goals of the quarter, taking a 17-15 lead into the final quarter.

The Chargers opened the fourth quarter with Perrotta scoring first two goals of the quarter to give LBC a 19-15 advantage. Donaldson added another goal off a free position shot, keeping LBC ahead by four. The Gators scored three consecutive goals to close back within one with 7:27 remaining in quarter. Donaldson responded with a pair of clutch goals to reestablish a three-goal lead. The Chargers held on for the 23-20 victory.
