Lancaster Bible Ready for 2023 Lacrosse Season

The Lancaster Bible College women's lacrosse team has announced its 2023 schedule following a strong 2022 season where the Chargers went 11-6 overall and 5-1 in the United East Conference, finishing second in the regular season. The Chargers earned a bid to the United East semifinals before falling to Medaille, 19-7. This will be the first year under the leadership of Head Coach Jackie Hoover.
 
The 2023 season features a total of 18 contests, two more than last season, including 13 non-conference games and five United East Conference games. The opening draw of 2023 is slated for Wednesday, February 22nd at cross-town foe Elizabethtown at 4:00 p.m.
 
The Chargers will finish out February with two more road games at Delaware Valley on Saturday, February 25th and Cairn on Tuesday, February 28th. The Chargers home debut is set for March 3rd for the program's first contest against Alliance University, an NCAA Division II school out of New York, New York. The Chargers will have four more non-conference games, two at home versus Notre Dame of Maryland and Neumann and two away at Bryn Mawr and Saint Vincent before opening conference play.
 
The Chargers open their United East Conference schedule on Friday, March 24th against another New York opponent in Wells College at the Donald H. Funk Field. After their bout with Wells, the Chargers close out the month of March with two more home games against non-conference opponents Bridgewater and Wilson.
 
Opening the month of April will be a tough contest at home against reigning United East Champion St. Mary's College of Maryland on Saturday, April 1st. Playing back-to-back conference games, the team then travels to La Roche on April 5th in Pittsburgh, Pa. The Chargers return home on April 12th to battle with Bryn Athyn to then road trip north to conference foe Morrisville State on April 15th.
 
Rounding out the season is the Chargers' last home game versus Trinity Washington April 22nd before hitting the road again at Juniata on April 26th and the final game of the season and last United East conference game at Mount Aloysius on April 29th. The United East Conference Playoffs is slated for the weekend of May 5th and 6th which the Chargers will look to return to for the third straight year.
 
Head Coach Jackie Hoover had this to say about the quickly approaching season… "I'm excited about what can be accomplished this season as we go on a new journey together. It is new soil for most of us where new seeds will be planted, and growth will be cultivated."
