The Lancaster Bible College Men's Soccer team is prepped for the 2025 season under 15
th-year head coach
Tom Ardt (129-113-31), seeing 17 games on their schedule with eight United East conference matches for the year before the postseason. The Chargers will look to improve upon their 2024 campaign where they finished 5-10-3 overall with a 2-4-2 conference record, landing the 10-seed in the United East postseason and winning in the First Round in double-overtime against Rosemont before falling in the Quarterfinals to Penn St. Abington. The Chargers placed fifth in this year's United East Preseason Poll, setting the stage for a big jump heading into the year. This year's postseason field reduces from 12 spots to 10, with 13 United East teams competing for their shot at the conference title and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
The Chargers have a strong pool of returning players for 2025 with 90% of their scoring production back on their roster from last season.
Andrew Cox (Sr.) returns as the program's active scoring leader with 25 career goals and
Dan Marcroft (Jr.) led the Chargers in 2024 with six goals and 14 total points. Both Cox and
Owen Shoemaker (Jr.) earned All-Conference First Team honors last year and Marcroft was a Third Team selection, with seniors
Matthew Eufemia and
Ben Nolt also scoring multiple goals for the Chargers in 2024.
Lucas Durkin (Sr.) and
Joel Walker (So.) led the team in total minutes a year ago and both return on defense for Lancaster Bible. The Chargers also have seven new additions to the roster who will look to make an impact in their first years.
Lancaster Bible opens the season on Friday, August 29 as they travel to Lebanon Valley for a 7:00 p.m. match, then open their home slate on Monday, September 1 as they host Wilkes. The Chargers have two more home non-conference matches against both Alvernia and York (Pa.) before opening United East play at Homecoming Weekend at LBC as they host Wilson on September 27 at 12:00 p.m. The Chargers' next three conference matches are on the road as they round out the stint at Penn St. Harrisburg on October 7. After hosting Gallaudet and Penn St. Abington, the team has two more road games before their regular season finale at home against reigning champions St. Mary's (Md.) on October 25 for Senior Day.
Head Coach
Tom Ardt had this to say about the upcoming 2025 season,
"Our team has been focused on playing to the best of our ability in several key areas, concepts that we started working on last spring. With a large returning core, we were able to make progress in some important areas that we had struggled with last fall and we are looking to make big strides in our play as we become a unified group. We have some strong new additions joining us and there is a hunger in the team that is fun to be around."
