Chargers Punish Fighting Owls

The last time the Lancaster Bible College women's volleyball team was over .500 this season, many of the players and coaches were preparing their Labor Day picnic plans. After their 3-0 sweep of Harford Community College on Tuesday in Horst Athletic Center, the Chargers are once again atop the .500 mark.

The Chargers (13-12) defeated the Fighting Owls, 25-13, 25-13, 25-11.

Sophomore Elissa Hunsberger led LBC with eight kills and seven assists. Freshman Lauren Hurd had a team high nine aces to along with her three digs.

LBC Head Coach Lauren Mable was happy the team improved its play from the last time they played Harford.

"We played at a much better level tonight than we did two weeks ago," Mable said. "It was nice to have that type of rhythm."

Mable was also pleased with the team's 17 aces.

"I can't remember a time that we have served that well," Mable said.

The Chargers return to action next Tuesday when they host Penn State-Berks in Horst Athletic Center at 7:00 p.m.
