Arcadia Powers Past Lancaster Bible

On the road for the first time this season, the Lancaster Bible College women's lacrosse team was roughed up by their hosts, Arcadia and lost, 21-5. The Knights (3-3) scored 10 of the game's first 11 goals and led 16-3 at halftime.

"We knew they liked to jump out early on teams and today we found out why," Chargers' Head Coach Zach Freeman said. "They have ladies who can move up the field with ease and they put it away when they are open."

For the Chargers, Whitney Heise had three goals, while Rebekah Weidel and Danielle Good scored the other two LBC goals. Good's goal was the first of her collegiate career.

"I'm happy Dani got her first goal," Freeman said. "She's been trying for a while now, so it was one of the positives on a day there weren't many. If we are going to be a successful team, players like Dani, Emily Burgett, Ky-Leigh Hallman and Kyleigh Worrell are going to have to keep playing hard and contribute a handful of goals."

LBC goalie Becky Meyer made nine saves, many of which were on point-blank shots by Arcadia.

"Becky played well today," Freeman said. "I know 21 goals is a lot, but a lot of those girls were wide open in front and not too many goalies would have saved those shots. Becky's clears continue to be strong and she is beginning to be a bit more active in goal which is good."

The Chargers return to NEAC play this Friday and Saturday when they face Keuka and Wells in upstate New York. LBC (0-6) will face the Storm on Friday at 4 p.m. and the Express at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
