Chargers End Season with Victory Over Rosemont

The Lancaster Bible College women's lacrosse team ended its season on a high note Thursday, defeating Rosemont, 12-6 and ending the season having won two of three games.

Whitney Heise added eight more goals to her school record and finished the season with 81 goals. Senior Rebekah Weidel scored three times on Thursday and finished the season with 60 goals. Ellie Hoover added the other Chargers' goal, while goalie Nicole Valinteno made seven saves.

The first half featured sloppy play from both teams as the Chargers (2-15, 1-8 NEAC) led by a score just, 4-2 at halftime. LBC began to establish itself offensively much more in the second half as they wore down the Ravens' defense and capitalized on their chances.

"The first half was a little rough, but the ladies had a good talk at halftime and we began to show a little more patience on offense and buckled down defensively," Chargers' Head Coach Zach Freeman said.

Weidel finishes her career with 148 goals and 164 points which places her second all-time in both categories. Her 156 ground balls are first all-time in program history.

"Bekah has meant so much to this program," Freeman said. "On the field, she has been one of the best players each of her four years. Off the field, she has impacted the lives her teammates and I think learned a lot about herself as well. We will miss her leadership and goal-scoring ability."
