Box Score The Lancaster Bible women's volleyball team lost its final home match of the season on Monday as Alvernia left Horst Athletic Center with a 3-1 victory. The Crusaders, who snapped a five-match losing streak, won, 25-20, 24-26, 25-21, 25-21.
After dropping the first set, the Chargers fought hard to win the second set, 26-24, but could not maintain the momentum and lost sets three and four. The third set was a back-and-forth battle that featured 11 ties and six lead changes before the Crusaders finally took control late in the set.
LBC sophomore 
Rachel Olson had 12 kills and a season-high 31 digs, while junior 
Katie Coomber added 13 kills and 11 digs. Coomber has record double-digit kills in six of her last eight matches and leads the Chargers with 381 this season. Sophomore 
Hannah Metzler had three kills, 30 assists and 27 digs, also a season-high. Sophomore libero 
Grace Scheuerman added 17 digs, and fellow sophomore 
Aubrey Folger had five kills and a block for LBC who fell to 13-23 this season. 
"We had many opportunities to win or take leads and we just didn't take advantage of them," Chargers Head Coach 
Lauren Bewley said. "We have to play our game and stop making unforced errors."
LBC finishes the season with a 4-6 home record and will wrap-up its regular season on Saturday with a tri-match against Messiah and Wilkes which will take place in Grantham, Pa. Saturday's matches will be at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
The Chargers will face Penn St. Berks on Tuesday, November 5 in Reading, Pa. in the NEAC Quarterfinals. A win will put the Chargers in the NEAC Final Four which will be held at top-seeded Gallaudet on November 9-10.
